Baby Boy - Paper Bag Mini Album

I've spent the past few weeks designing and making a baby boy paper bag mini album for a special little baby. I made a video to post on here, but for whatever reason (which I will have to research and learn how to do) after 1 hour of saying it was uploading the video nothing happens. So I gave up for now and will instead post the pictures. Sorry it is long...

The little book that says "My Story" has several pages of lined paper so mom and dad can write the story of his birth.

This one opens to place 5 pictures.

The little book again can be used to tell those fun little bath time stories.

I purposely left these pages blank so they can make imprints of his hands and feet.

No book of mine would be complete without some reference to farm!

Here they can insert pictures of mom, dad and Samuel.

A page to tell about mom.
A page to tell about dad.
And finally the card I made to go along with it.

I'm happy to say the album was delivered today,  mom and dad both loved it, and we enjoyed meeeting Samuel for the first time.

Drum roll please......

I had a friend who dropped by today pick the name for the "Slice of Life" stamp set

and the winner is:

"Karen M."

I have 3 Karen's in my groups, so I can just see all you Karens say...."me", but the winner should have received an email from me already.

Congratulations Karen, I hope you enjoy the set and will look forward to my next visit to your scraproom to see what you made with it.

Messy room = Creative Mind, I hope!

This one is for all you ladies who have to come to the Scrappin' Barn and walked into my room and said, "Oh your room is so clean, so tidy and well organized"

(before a class)

And I'm sure when I say, "Oh, it's not normally like this!" you don't really believe me. So I thought I would show you what my table looks like when I have 4 projects on the go at the same time.

(during a creative moment)

I have tried (and believe me, my friend "J" can attest to this) to clean as I go, but once I get going I find that if I stop to put things away, I lose my ideas. (I heard that snicker, "No, it's not age related"). What seems to work for me is work until I have no more space, then clear a few things and keep going.

I'm working on three birthday cards and a baby boy Mini Album, which I have to get done by Sunday, and hoping to have pictures of it on here by then. I'm bursting to show it to someone who can appreciate the work that goes into it.

Techniques Class #1

We just finished our first techniques class, tonight we covered, repetition stamping, faux tile and popping pastels.  The take away was a card made with the new Beyond the Garden DSP from the Summer Mini, as well as the last chance stamp set Fresh Cuts on which we used the popping pastels, and finished the card off with a greeting from the Swirls and Curls Verses (Hostess set from the Summer Mini).

What I enjoy the most about classes and workshops is always the opportunity to meet new stamping friends. See you in two weeks ladies!

Altered Wedding Favors

Over the past few months I've been helping a friend of mine prepare for her daughters wedding. One of the tasks at hand were party favors, during my research of what we could do, I found these adorable Bride and Groom 2-4-6-8 boxes that ScrappinQueenBee88 demonstrated. I fell in love with these, but the future bride and groom fell in love with the pillow box favors. Determined that the Bride and Groom boxes should somehow be part of the wedding we came up with the idea that we could make the simple boxes into a card box. So here is what we started with:

these are what we ended up with:

on the back is the opening for the cards:

a small difference in sizes and embelishments between the two
and these are the 86 favors we made

We sure did have fun making these. As my hubby said tonight, it almost makes you want to get married all over again!
